Born in France in 1607, Isaac Jogues joined the Jesuits at the age of 17 and felt called to become a missionary. He was sent to Canada to work with the Huron Indians. One day he was captured by some Iroquois warrios and was tortured. He finally escaped and made his way back to France. He soon returned to Canada but again was tortured and became a martyr for the Faith.
